The Armenian National Committee Eastern Region held its 10th annual banquet in our nation's Capital of Washington DC on Saturday December 3rd. Armenians from all over the East Coast celebrated the ANCA ER and honored three stalwart defenders of our cause, Dr. Roger Smith of the College of William and Mary of Virginia, who tirelessly advocated for the recognition of the Armenian Genocide, and Mrs. John Jerikian and Levon Palian, both local activist who have given so much of their lives serving the Armenian cause in the Washington area. The President of Artsakh Bako Sahakyan as well as Easter Region legend Tom Vartabedian were honored for their unending commitment to the well being of the Armenian people and the Armenian diaspora.

There were many fabulous items generously donated by our community to help raise more money for the event, the most fabulous being the amazing Armenian alphabet scarf, made to look like a beautiful Armenian tapestry with our ancient alphabet superimposed, donated by Anet's Collection. A handsome men's neck tie was also donated by Ms. Anet Abnous and the ANCA ER is eternally grateful to all the donors who helped make this banquet one of the most successful in its history!
