Anet Abnous Recognized in CUNY’s Prestigious 2025 “50 Under 50” Alumni Awards

The City University of New York has officially announced the honorees of its 2025 “50 Under 50” Alumni Awards, and among this year’s distinguished class is Anet Abnous—acclaimed designer, cultural storyteller, women’s empowerment advocate, and co-founder of Lusanet Collective. This prestigious award celebrates CUNY alumni under the age of 50 who have demonstrated exceptional leadership, creativity, and community impact across their industries.
Being named a 2025 CUNY 50 Under 50 honoree marks a significant milestone in Anet’s journey as an artist and entrepreneur. As a proud graduate of Queens College (CUNY), where she earned her BFA in Design, Anet views this recognition as both a full-circle moment and a testament to the power of education, diversity, and opportunity that CUNY represents.
The annual 50 Under 50 Awards highlight alumni who embody progress, innovation, and meaningful service. The 2025 class includes leaders in the arts, business, social impact, public service, science, and community development. To be included in such accomplished company reflects Anet’s dedication to elevating culture, supporting small businesses, and creating spaces where creativity and community thrive.
Through her brand Anet’s Collection, she transforms fine art and Armenian cultural heritage into wearable pieces of fashion, expanding representation across major platforms—from museum gift shops to media productions and red-carpet events. As co-founder of Lusanet Collective, a creative retail hub in Downtown Burbank representing over 40 international and local designers, Anet has created a home for artisans to showcase their talent, build their small businesses, and connect with a supportive community.
Her commitment doesn’t stop there. Anet also co-founded Lusanet Voices, the nonprofit arm of Lusanet Collective, designed to uplift underrepresented creative entrepreneurs through education, cultural programming, and mentorship. Her work centers around empowerment, diversity, and cultural storytelling—values deeply aligned with CUNY’s mission.
“I am truly honored to be recognized by The City University of New York,” Anet shared. “CUNY played a major role in shaping my creative voice and giving me the confidence to pursue my dreams. Being selected as one of the 2025 50 Under 50 honorees inspires me to continue uplifting others and contributing to the communities that shaped me.”
As CUNY celebrates its 2025 honorees, Anet stands among a dynamic group of trailblazers who are redefining excellence in their fields. This recognition highlights her artistic achievements, her leadership as a woman entrepreneur, and her unwavering dedication to community-centered creativity. Her journey—from Queens College to becoming an influential cultural and creative leader—reflects the very spirit and mission of CUNY: opportunity, resilience, and impact.
Anet’s inclusion in the 2025 CUNY 50 Under 50 Awards shines a bright light on her continued evolution as an artist, entrepreneur, and advocate—and it marks yet another inspiring milestone in her growing legacy.
