Today we’d like to introduce you to Anet Abnous.

Hi Anet, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started Anet’s Collection six years ago. The business started with only eight t-shirts printed with my original paintings and drawings. By second year, we started adding our accessories, scarves to be exact and that changed everything. Before I knew within two years, people knew me as “The Scarf Lady”.

We are known for our art and culturally inspired accessories and gifting items. We basically make affordable gifting process very easy for our fans.

We have expanded the business since then to over few hundred SKU’s and partnered with many stores and Museum gift shops who represent us. We also have representation in Europe.

We are growing each day through B2C and B2B clients and recently added our jewelry line and mini baby line to our collection.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It hasn’t been a smooth road at all. Any business has its ups and downs but if you really love what you do and believe in yourself and try to enjoy the process, it can be very rewarding.

We are self-funded company and the first four years, it has grown only through bootstrapping and a lot of trials and errors.

I was fortunate enough to get a grant from Tory Burch Foundation and get certified through Cornel University with Women Entrepreneurship program and I can say that was the beginning of changes and progress for Anet’s Collection.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am self-employed and Founder and designer of Anet’s Collection wearable Art company which is 100% women-owned business.

We are known for our art and culturally inspired affordable gifting items. Our clients are people who have appreciation for arts and different cultures.

I am proud to be able to grow Anet’s Collection from eight products to over few hundred and be represented by many stores and showrooms. But most importantly, I am proud to be able to be a very strong role model for my children and show them that everything is figureoutable if you are willing to have patience and work hard and learn from your mistakes along the way.

What sets us apart is our unique products within moderate price range that can not be find anywhere else. The art on each piece talks for itself.

Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
I am a big fan of Jay Shetty, Mel Robins, Simon Sinek and also Gary Way-Ner-Chuk. I listen to their podcasts and talks all the time.

As for Apps, there are many I use for work to make my life easier and stay organized. Artstory, Preview, Facetune to name a few.
